wishlist

wishlist

Here are a few things that I am lusting after right now...

1. Docs: I've had my eye on these for at least a year now but every time I go into a shop to try them on they're super uncomfortable. But when I see someone wearing them they look really stylish. So I was thinking of maybe getting a pair on Ebay where someone has worn them in but still in good condition. If you get me. Also what's the sizing like in these, I'm a 5.5, so should I go for a 6? I donnay have a clue :>.

2. Studded Bra (Romwe): I've seen this on quite a few fashion blogs. I think it's awesome. Don't know if I would have the guts to pull it off.

3. Disco Pants (UK Glamorous): I already have the black ones of these and I adore them. So I definitely want to get my hands on the blue pair.

4. Leather Jacket (Romwe): I love the colour and shape of this jacket. I wear my old one to death so I would like more variation!

5. Galaxy Print Top (Romwe): Fabulous top, love the bold colours in it.

6 and 7. Colour Restore Ice Platinum and Decolour Remover (Boots): I'm always dying my hair, most recently I have gone dark brown. The other day I stumbled across these new products which were made in collaboration with Scott Cornwall, the guy who made Colour B4 (which I love). Anyways, I quickly get bored with my hair and I would love to try the remover. I know that I'll be left with some brassyness to my hair and I've heard that the colour restore ice platinum works a treat. So I guess these products pretty much go hand in hand with one another.

diy studded jumper

diy: studded shoulders

I love the studded jumpers that Topshop have been selling but they are far too expensive! So I thought I'd have a go at a DIY.

What you will need:
A jumper: I bought this dip dye turquoise jumper in Primark for £8. I thought it would be perfect for studding.

Some studs: The studs were relatively cheap and I got them from >>Ebay<<.
And a knife: I just got an old kitchen one. Preferably use a blunt knife so there's no chance of cutting yourself.

1. I chose to stud my jumper down the seam. So first I positioned the stud where I wanted it to be.

2. I pushed the legs through the jumper, this was easy because the material wasn't that thick.

3. Using a knife push the legs inwards

4. Make sure the legs go into the stud, this anchors the studs better and stops them from working themselves out of the jumper.

I decided to use 5 studs on each shoulder, you could use more or less depending on what you want.

This is a great way to be right on trend with spending very little money! I have a video below of me studding the jumper, if you want to check it out :)

i dyed my pixie cut

I dyed my pixie cut

So I dyed my pixie cut with nice'n easy 120C natural dark chestnut brown.
The colour before was a boring and drab blonde so I wanted to get rid of it.
And I thought why no go darker to see what it would look like.
I followed the instructions and everything went well. I also filmed me dying my hair so check out the video below.
The colour is pretty close to the lady on the box which is always a good sign.
The dye and the conditioning gloss has left my hair in great condition. I can't stop running my hands through it!
And a picture of me covering my face because I have no makeup on and serious bags of Gondor, for some strange reason.
And here's what the colour looks like with curly hair :)

What do you guys think?

300

300!

I've just realised that I've now got over 300 blog followers! Which has made me right chuffed to say the least. :>. Since finishing uni I have definitely been blogging a lot more and well its something that I really enjoy. So I would just like to say thankyou to y'all for reading/following hattieshideaway, it truly means everything to me.

Lots of sloppy kisses from me, Basil and Ted!

primark gems 2012

mini primark haul 2012

A little birdie told me that Primark now have their new A/W clothes in store. So as soon as I got into town I made a B line for it. I only ended up getting two things since I can go a little crazy in there and buy stuff which I certainly do not need.

Anywhoo, I was originally going to get the studded flats, which were nice and all but I never seem to wear flats ever! But then I came across these boots and by gosh was I excited. They are a bit like the Topshop Ambush boots, same style and what not but they have spikes on the back. I tried them on and they are really comfy. I couldn't say no and they only cost £18.

Next I saw the cream/turquoise dip dye jumper. This piece had my name on it, fosho'. I had to get it in a 16, because I swear the fit was made for a child! Plus it was only £8.

Primark is so hit and miss, and I usually can't be bothered to go in unless I see something in a haul. But my advice now is get your butts down to your nearest store before all the good stuff is snapped up. :)

I nipped into town today because I needed to put some moolah into my bank and also look for a grey scarf/pashmina for the wedding. But before I went I decided to film a get ready with me video and snap some outfit photos.

The top I got in Zara (Dublin) for only 7 Euro. I love the dip dye effect and its high low hem. I paired it with my favourite American Apparel high shine leggings and my Vans. Super comfy!

In the end I didn't manage to find a scarf thing but my Mum's letting me borrow one of hers. Although I did buy 2 amazing things in Primark which I must blog about :).

graduation dress

Dress - Warehouse £20, Shoes - Clarks £20.

It has been my mission to find a suitable dress for an upcoming wedding and my graduation. I went around Chester at the weekend but all the shops failed me! Well, there was a lovely dress in River Island which was quite pretty, I would have gotten that if nothing else caught my eye.

I went to Cheshire Oaks yesterday (which is an outlet), since I thought they would have a good selection of formal dresses/shoes. I came across this beautiful lace dress in Warehouse. Its a classic cut, just what I was looking for. It had originally been £48, and was marked down to £25, but I managed to get 20% with my student card. Result!

I also got these shoes from Clark's. I decided that a purple grey wedge would go well with the dress.
I was initially going to buy some nude heels, but they're all way too tall for me and so uncomfortable. Plus non of the million of pairs I tried on actually fit. Damn my feet being a size 5.5! They had been £50 and were marked down to £20.

I was so pleased with my shopping trip. Usually I never find anything at Cheshire Oaks. :)

friendship bracelets

 Friendship bracelets (£1 each)

I love friendship bracelets, they're bright, colourful and great for layering.
I get mine down in Abersoch/Pwllheli and they're super cheap. I would make them myself but I'm just far too lazy. (I did try the other day but got bored after the first 5 minutes). :D

Basil

△ 1. What is your pets name?
His name is Basil, but we also call him Rasil Basil, Monster and Spectacle Rabbit.

△ 2. What kind of pet is it and what breed?
He's a lop eared blonde bunny rabbit.

△ 3. How long have you had your pet friend?
We got him early this year (2012). So he's still only a baby!

Baby Basil

△ 4. How did you get your pet?
Me and my Dad went looking around the whole of Chester and Wrexham to find a bunny. We visited a little pet shop which had a massive run with lots of rabbits in. We asked the guy if he had any baby lop eared ones and so he lifted the hutch roof off and there were so many little rabbits. Then we saw a shot of blonde fly past and that was Basil. He was so incredibly small and far too cute! Dad wasn't sure at first so we left and kept on looking. We decided to go home and tell Mum about this little furry blonde rabbit we had seen and showed her a picture. She immediately wanted him. So we jumped in the car and drove as fast as we could to the pet shop. Somebody else might have had him! But no he was still there and so we got him and brought him home ^_^.

△ 5. How old is your pet?
I'd say about 10 months old.

△ 6. What are some quirky things about your pets personality?
He's a little devil. Goes around biting things all the time! Be it my clothes, shoes, blankets, paper, anything. He loves attention and tickles, if you stop he will rush and nudge you as if to say 'hey, your not finished yet'. He likes to be chased around the house/garden. Ted the Pig and Basil both get on well but can be a little jealous at times.

△ 7. What does your relationship with your pet mean to you?
Everything. I love pets more than humans most of the time. My relationship with Basil (and Ted) is a positive one. They both show me so much love. I couldn't live in a house with no animals!

He's so handsome!

△ 8. What are some of your favorite past times with your pet?
We go down to Abersoch together and he enjoys running around the caravan. I also like to sunbathe in the garden with him and he'll come up and lie beside me.

△ 9. What are nicknames that you call your pet?
The little git!

I post photos of him and Ted all the time on my Instagram (qu33ney).

Here's some footage of him :)

† OOTN †

Outfit of the Night.

I went out to drinks with some old friends last week.
I filmed a quick video, so I thought I might as well whack it on my blog.

The Dress is from Vero Moda, I absolutely love that shop it's just a shame there isn't one in Chester. I always seem to find a right gem whenever I go in. After I had bought said dress I knew I needed a belt to synch me in at the waist. So I popped into a Wilmslow charity shop and found this one with a bulls head on it, originally from Gap! The shoes I bought in a charity shop in Chester, they're Clarks ones too. I opted for simple jewellery - a rose gold bracelet from Asos and a few silver rings from a boutique.

London 2012 Olympic Games

London 2012 Olympic Games

Wow, what an amazing 2 weeks we have had. I was always up for Great Britain to host the Olympics. Back in the day I use to be super sporty and competed at the Cheshire District Championships. Me and my fellow team mates won the 4x100m relay and smashed the record which was set in 1994! Anyways enough of that... It's been so nice to switch the TV on and watch some fantastic sport and to hear good news on the news (if you get me).

GB started off slowly and I thought it would be a disaster but they turned a corner and started raking in the medals. And by the end of the games we came 3rd with 29 Golds, 17 Silver and 19 Bronze. Which is truly spectacular since we are such a small island compared to the powerhouses which are America and China.

I have never been so proud to be British and Team GB are incredible for what they have achieved. I must admit I do have a few favourite Olympians: Mo Farah, Jess Ennis, Chris Hoy & Tom Daley to name a few.

And of course there's Bolt. I've never really watched him until now but I love his attitude, his bravado and well he's just a genuinely funny guy. I hope he doesn't stop athletics, I want to see him in Rio!

I really wished I had made to effort to go down to London. I live all the way up north in Cheshire so I totally missed out on the atmosphere and everything. But nevertheless I enjoyed watching it on tele. If I could rewind I would probably try to volunteer. They looked like they had a fabulous time.

All the photographs are from the Facebook page Team GB, go and like it!
Well it truly is an end of an era. We've waited many many years for this and its come and gone.
But what it's left behind is beautiful. A country united and a generation inspired.

 Abersoch Boatyard Top £46

It'll be the 20th Summer that I've been going to Abersoch this year. It's pretty much my second home.
Any-whoo, I've loved these tops ever since I was a little girl but never owned one. My Mum treated me to this for doing well in my degree. It's super warm and cosy and I know I'll wear it to death.

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Review

This is another product which I've heard so many many good things about. And since I was running out of my Clarins cleanser I decided to nip into John Lewis and pick up the starter C&P kit from LE. The cleanser comes in a little blue bag with 2 muslin cloths and a info card including some directions on how to use it.

I would recommend getting the starter kit if its your first time. The bag is rather useful as I tend to be at my boyfriend's at the weekend or down in Abersoch, so all I do is pop my C&P in the bag along with the muslin cloths and their ready to go and there's no danger of them becoming dirty (I'm a little OCD like that).

The 2 muslin cloths are really big and are a little more abrasive than my No. 7 ones which I like because I do tend to have quite dry skin and therefore the cloths really do give me a great exfoliation. I use the cloths about 4 times before I put them in the wash.

Before using the C&P, I take all my makeup off with my Bioderma and a cotton pad. Therefore the cloths don't get as grubby and the C&P can concentrate on cleansing my skin.

I use one pump which is enough for my whole face. I apply it to dry skin and massage it all over. Next I run a muslin cloth under warm water and ring it out slightly. I let the C&P sit for about 1 minute before polishing it with the cloth. Once all the cleanser has been removed I run the cloth under warm water again and just got over my skin gently to make sure everything has gone! I then rinse the cloth a third time and hang it on the radiator to dry out.

The cleanser definitely has quite a strong smell to it, which I don't particularly like but is not overbearing and goes away after its on the skin.

All in all I really do love this product and I am so happy I bought it. I thought at first the rich formula would irritate my skin but it is the absolute opposite. My skin is completely clean and super soft to touch afterwards.

I honestly do recommend this product. And if you are unsure there is a 50ml version available too!
Next on my LE list is the Instant Boost Skin Tonic & the Skin Repair Moisturiser.

Have you guys tried this? And what were your thoughts?

my updated pixie cut

my updated pixie cut

I had my hair done yesterday, thank goodness! Now its short it grows like muddafuddah and I was supporting a pixie mullet if anything. I decided to have it coloured with dark blonde lowlights pulled through to make it look more natural. The main reason for this is that I'm currently looking for a job and I think this colour is more acceptable for when I go to interviews yaddayadda. Plus I don't have to worry so much about roots. As for the cut I just had a trim, I'm probably going to grow it out to shoulder length, and once it reaches that stage go back to being a proper blonde lassy.

Oh and excuse the no makeup!
