Pixie Cut Update - 5 Months

Soooo my fro is growing, though be it very slowly (it seems to take forever!). If you guys don't know, I'm on a mission to grow out my pixie cut. I'm still glad that I got my hair cut short because I've always wondered what it was like to have short hair and now I know! Anyways, after about 2 months I decided that I wanted longer hair, so fast forward another 5 months and this is where I'm at. I get trims every 6-7 weeks, just to keep it healthy and I get the back bit at the bottom cut super short, as this tends to grow like a muddafudda and look real stupid.

Recently I've just been using a standard shampoo and conditioner (whatever is on offer) and then apply some Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment when it's been towel dried, and well that's pretty much it. I was using Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment but that was a couple of months back. I, however, have just popped onto Ebay and bought me sen some Mane-n-Tail shampoo and conditioner. I can't wait to start using it as I've heard so many good reviews. I will let you guys know my thoughts on that at a later date!

I'm also fed up of being brown, ughhh! I did try going back to my natural dark blonde/light brown colour but that was one big massive epic fail. So once I get it to all one length and into a somewhat bob style I shall be going back blonde, hurrah!

Do you guys recommend anything for speedier hair growth?

Garnier Belle Colour Natural Dark Ash Blonde

I dyed my hair again! In my previous post you saw me use the Decolour Hair Colour Remover, which had left me with brassy blondeish hair. So I thought great I'll whack on a dark blonde dye and I'll be pretty much back to my natural colour. Well, what a massive fail. I went brown again! Nothing like the chick on the box. Uggh! But I don't know what to blame, either the Decolour or the dye. It does recommend that you leave your hair for 7 days after using Decolour, but there was no way that that was going to happen. Plus it does say you can dye straight over it. But then again it could be the hair dye itself! Oh I don't know, but I'm back to brown. Hopefully it will lift after a couple of washes. Humpf!

HAIR

Hair Inspiration (Google Images)
As you guys may or may not know, I'm trying to grow my pixie cut out. I am currently at the annoying hobbit stage which is driving me insane and makes me want to chop the whole thing off! Anywhoo, I dyed my hair a dark red/brown a few months ago and since then my roots have started to come through. They're not too obvious but under direct light they look super light and weird. So I'm really wanting to go back to my natural hair colour which is pretty much identical to the lovely lady's above. I want to grow it out and add a subtle blonde ombre to the ends once it becomes all one length. But I'm still a while of all that business, probably another 6 months, eep! Oh well, I'll just have to be patient and grit my teeth ^_^.

a purple pixie?

A purple pixie?

Annnnd I was bored with my hair (again). It needed a top up and I had a look around Boot's to see what hair dye that had. Most brown dyes are boring and flat in colour. I wanted something more interesting. I found this BOTANICS DYE in Deepest Mulberry Dark Burgundy Brown, in other words purple brown to you and me. I decided to get a non-permanent in case I didn't like it.

It came out super dark to begin with and so I decided to hop back in the shower and wash it with clarifying shampoo (twice) to try and remove some of the darkness. This definitely helped! I then let it air dry naturally and applied lots of hair oils to keep in nice condition. The dye has left me with a nice shiny purple pixie which I absolutely love!

I thought it would be best to take a photo in direct sunlight, since you can see the purple much clearer.

Hair Update - Growing Out a Pixie Cut?

Long Hair

This is how my hair use to look before I had it cut short. The left picture is me with just long blonde hair and the right one is me with ombre hair. I really do miss that now!

Short Blonde Hair

Here's my current hair inspiration... I love the length and the subtle ombre.
I talk more about my plans in the video ^_^

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment - The Beginning

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment - The Beginning

I picked up 2 tubs of this stuff last week since it was on offer. I have actually used the growth treatment previously and did a blog post on it (but its old and rubbish!). But I thought I would document my hair growth and see how I feel about it this time around. Since I have shorter hair this time, the product will last me much longer, which is nice since the tubs are a little on the small side.

I thought it would be best to straighten my hair first and brush it. As you can see my fringe comes down to my eyeballs and is rather irritating! I'm trying to grown the top layers out so that eventually it will be all one length at the bottom, if you get me.

I still do like my rapidly growing pixie cut but I'm getting a little bored. There's not much you can do with it and I miss my ombre. I think the next part of my hair mission is to grow it with the Lee Stafford hair growth treatment. Remove the artifical dye and go back to my natural hair colour. Because when it grows through it's a really nice cool dark blonde. Then I might ombre it again when it reaches my shoulders!

i dyed my pixie cut

I dyed my pixie cut

So I dyed my pixie cut with nice'n easy 120C natural dark chestnut brown.
The colour before was a boring and drab blonde so I wanted to get rid of it.
And I thought why no go darker to see what it would look like.
I followed the instructions and everything went well. I also filmed me dying my hair so check out the video below.
The colour is pretty close to the lady on the box which is always a good sign.
The dye and the conditioning gloss has left my hair in great condition. I can't stop running my hands through it!
And a picture of me covering my face because I have no makeup on and serious bags of Gondor, for some strange reason.
And here's what the colour looks like with curly hair :)

What do you guys think?

my updated pixie cut

my updated pixie cut

I had my hair done yesterday, thank goodness! Now its short it grows like muddafuddah and I was supporting a pixie mullet if anything. I decided to have it coloured with dark blonde lowlights pulled through to make it look more natural. The main reason for this is that I'm currently looking for a job and I think this colour is more acceptable for when I go to interviews yaddayadda. Plus I don't have to worry so much about roots. As for the cut I just had a trim, I'm probably going to grow it out to shoulder length, and once it reaches that stage go back to being a proper blonde lassy.

Oh and excuse the no makeup!

Pixi Cut - from brown to blonde

Hello All!
Your all probably like me and get super bored with your hair constantly.
Well I still love my pixi cut but it was growing out so fast and the colour was a bit 'meh'.
Therefore I opted to have a full head of highlights and a trim.
I think it looks a million times better!

My Pixie Hair Cut

 Hello All!
I got my hair did today.
I'll start off by apologising for the lack of photos. The reason behind this is that Benefit Porefessional has made me break out so bad, all over my nose and cheeks and it is rather depressing to look at!
So I will take my pictures when my skin has cleared up a little! I will post my video though below so you can still get the jist!

So my appointment was at 12:15pm at The Francesco Group in Chester.
I arrived nice and early and nervous as hell.
(I haven't been to a salon since I was 3! and I'm nearly 22! A was a right noob to say the least).
I had my consultation and showed the inspiration pictures.
My hairdresser was really nice and he spent 4 hours, yes 4 FREAKIN' HOURS, on my fro.
To be honest, it was a complete restyle and I have such thick hair.
I got the usual wash, cut, blowdry and style.

My friend gave me a £10 refer a friend voucher so it actually only came to £37 rather than £47.
So I got such a good deal!

I'm so happy with it and I keep looking in the mirror and feeling it :D
I feel like Emma Watson lol.

edit: here's a better photo :)

New Hair?

So I've been contemplating getting my hair cut short for quite a while now.
I don't mean bob length I've been there done that (a million times).
I mean something more like a pixie cut (but not too short!).
The reason for this is that, yes I've wanted long hair for ages and have been growing it for about 3 years.
But to be honest its getting a right pain to handle.
For example, a have to deal with multiple birds nest a day, rag a brush through the thing and it is constantly knotty, not to mention the frizzyness of the beast.
And I'm thinking to myself, well if its this hard to maintain when its this length, what on Earth is it going to be like when it grows longer and longer.
So I'm getting super fed up!
I finish uni in a few weeks and then it will be time for me to open the next chapter to my life.
And I was thinking of starting it with a new short do?
My Mum has always had super curly short hair all her life and it suits her.
And I think I should just bite the bullet and get the damn thing cut.
At the end of the day its only hair and mine grows really fast!
So I'm currently saving up to get it done properly at a salon (I usually have a hairdresser come to my house).
Ah it's all so exciting!

Onto another thing quickly...
I'm wanting to get a small tattoo, I know what and where. I just need to book it in.
That will be after my exams though!

What do you guys think to a hair cut like Shannyn?

DIY: Ombre Hair from Blonde

So I bit the bullet and dyed my hair ombre from blonde and I am super pleased.

To start with I was getting so bored with my constant roots and had been contemplating dying it ombre for a while. So today I plucked up the courage and drove to Boots to get me some hair dye. I chose the Clairol Nice'n Easy foam dye in 7 Dark Blonde. Since I thought that this would match my roots/natural hair colour the most.

I started off by sectioning my hair and decided I would dye my top layers first (which I did). I left the dye on for 20 minutes. I then proceeded to 'lightly' dye the mid lengths of my bottom layers. I only left the dye on for about 7 minutes and quickly hopped in the shower. Since I wanted to achieve the gradient look!
I washed it with the conditioner supplied and let it air dry.

I love having a new hair colour or style, its quite refreshing!
What do you guys think?

P.S. Here's my video showing you how I did it!

Haul Time

I've decided to give my hair some love since its becoming quite dry in places. I've heard that proteins are good to restore hair back to its optimum condition so I picked up Tigi Bed Head Dumb Blonde and Redken CAT Protein Spray. Also Sainsbury's was doing a half price deal on their Herbal Essences so picked up two hair masks.

Next is my little lucky bamboo friend which was from Homebase :)

Then I got these Vintage Levi Denim Shorts from Urban Outfitters. I love them!
Can't wait for it to warm up a bit so I can wear them with some tights :D
In the last picture I am wearing the shorts teamed with a lime green top from Zara and my Vans, oh and my Michael Kors watch.

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment - 2 Months on and a Review

I've just finished my two pots of Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment and it has been 2 months.
So here are the results:

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Review

+ Conditions hair really well leaving it soft to touch
+ Smells nice (which is always a plus)
+ I personally believe it does aid hair growth. I had my highlights done a few weeks ago and they've already grown out to at least 1.5-2cm.

- Expensive (£8~) I wouldn't buy this unless there was an offer on
- Not much product. Since I have very thick hair it only lasts me a month tops.
- It states that it should be on the hair for at least 5 minutes. I don't think this is long enough in my eyes and so I tended to leave it on for 10~ minutes. Which can be a pain if your in a rush.

Since I've used up all my pots I'll carry on taking pictures every month just to document my hair growth.
If this is on offer 2 for £8 again in Boots I will definitely be picking it up.
